What is EducationUSA?
EducationUSA is a global network of more than 400 advising centers supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Here in Brazil, EducationUSA Advising Centers are overseen by the Fulbright Office in Rio de Janeiro and by the Regional Educational Advising Coordinator (REAC) based in Rio de Janeiro.
The EducationUSA global website at http://educationusa.state.gov has information in English aimed at prospective international students worldwide arranged by topics such as "Apply and Be Admitted," "Finance your Studies," "Prepare for the Student Visa," "Research Choices and Tests," and "Get Ready to Go." Here in Brazil, there is an EducationUSA site in Portuguese at http://www.estudenoseua.org.br, which lists advising centers in Brazil, provides information about studying in the U.S. at the high school, university and post-graduate levels, as well as on studying English in the U.S.
There is also information about Opportunity Grants to assist outstanding prospective students with financial need with the costs of applying to U.S. universities. Please make sure your students and staff are aware of these resources.
